Wall-mounted, low-power reflective metasurfaces redirect sub-terahertz communication and radar beams around concrete pillars and corners, extending coverage into shadow zones without adding active transceivers.
Each panel integrates thousands of sub-wavelength resonant elements tuned individually by varactor diodes. Programming the reflection phase gradient across the surface bends incoming beams around blind corners and into shadowed hallways.
Beyond redirecting communication beams, the surface focuses radar illumination onto moving assets, letting base stations track objects hidden behind structural walls without deploying additional active radio hardware.
